Beijing Airport Taxi

To take a taxi in the airport is not an easy thing. It is reported that the number of taxies in the Capital Airport could reach at 9000 each day, while 11,000 in the peak hours. This caused a lot of trouble for worldwide visitors in taking a taxi.

When taking a taxi, you have to be noted about the following things(Beijing airport taxi FAQ & Tips):
First, avoid drivers who intend to approach travelers in or outside terminal because they might ask you for a ridiculous price and some are even black cars.

Second, wait an authorized taxi in the taxi station just outside the terminal: There is a taxi line in the specialized taxi station. You might have to wait for a little while in the queue especially in the peak hours at 4-6 pm and 9-11pm.

Third, make sure you are giving a correct and detailed address so as to avoid misunderstanding and unnecessary trouble.

Forth, remember to get the receipt when arrived.

Taxi Charges
The starting rate for most Beijing taxies is RMB10 for 3 kilometers (RMB11 from 11pm to 5am).
After 3 kilometers each extra kilometer will charge you RMB2.

If you are going to take a taxi to Beijing airport, you should leave yourself plenty of extra time for Beijing traffic. There is always a traffic jam in certain area of Beijing especially at rush hours. Taxi fee can be higher if the traffic is bad.
