Jiaozhuanghu Underground Tunnels are a labyrinth of underground tunnels built by the local people in Jiaozhuanghu village during the period of China's War of Resistance against Japan (1937-1945).They were used by the civilians and  soldiers to ambush and do sniper attacks on the Japanese invaders. Connecting 5 villages, it has a total length of 23 li (7 miles). At present, about 600-meter-long tunnel has been renovated. Inside the tunnel, you can find individual blindages, planks, meeting rooms, headquarters, gunshot holes, and warehouses etc. Entrances to the tunnels are camouflaged in ingenious ways: kangs, hogpens, donkey slots, wardrobes ,a pot hole, a water jar, a kitchen range and a donkey stall could all be entrances. During the fighting against the fierce, cruel enemies, the tunnels helped the Chinese people greatly, and dealt a heavy blow to the Japanese aggressors. Even in the world war history, such a new form of fighting was a great wonder. These tunnels show the mighty force of the Chinese people and their great creativity and intelligence.
