Located 15 km from central Beijing the Botanical Garden is a big garden covering the area of 400 Hectares. It was established in 1955. The garden was consists of the following parts: a lake; the Perennial Garden; Peony Garden; Ornamental Peach Garden; a Conservatory housing Rain Forest House; Orchid House; Desert Garden House; Exhibition Flower House and other gardens.
The Temple of Heaven is situated in the southern part of the city. It was built in 1420, encompassing 273 hectares (674 acres).The perimeter of the Temple of Heaven is 6,369 meters with 6 meters high.

The Summer Palace has a history of over 800years.In 115, when the Jin Dynasty made Beijing (then called Yanjing) its capital, it built an imperial palace (the Golden Hill Palace) on the present site of the Summer Palace, In 1750, Emperor Qianlong spent 4.48 million taels of silver (140,000 kilos of silver) building the Garden of Clear Ripples in 15 years and changed the name of the hill to Longevity Hill to celebrate his mother's birthday. 
Fragrant Hills Park, about 30 kilometres northwest of Beijing, is one of the most favourite resourts on the cith's outskits. It covers an area of 160 hectares (395.36acres). In 1186,in the Jin Dynasty, the Fragrant Hills Timple was built and terraces, pavilions and pagodas were added by the subsequent dynasties. The area was later converted into a park and was named the Park of Tranquility and Pleasure.

Description of Hutong The word "Hutong" originated from the Mongolian word "huto", which means water wells. Since nomadic tribes used to live and stay near water wells, they called the small alleys "huto". Hutong had its first appearance in Beijing in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368).The name was gradually adopted by all the residents of Beijing, and has been handed down to the present. 
Beijing Zoo was built in 1906 and opened to the public in 1908 with an area of about 10 hectares and a few humble pavilions to house the animals.At that time only several dozens of species were shown, such as lions, tigers, leopards and monkeys. New Beijing Zoo covers an area of 90 hectares(222.4 acres). The animal houses and enclosures, with a total floor space of 40,000 square metres, include those for pandas, elephants, brown and polar bears, tigers, hippopotami, rhinoceros, antelopes, giraffes and reptiles. 
World Flower Garden is located in the Fengtai District with a total area of 41.8 hectares. It is the largest Botanical garden within the fourth ring road of Beijing. It owns the largest plant greenhouse in Beijing, too. There are seven greenhouse scenery areas in the garden. The temperature, humility and irrigation are controlled by computer which creates the most favorable environment for the plants. Every greenhouse displays many unique and beautiful flowers home and abroad. The outside scenery of the world Flower Garden consists of fifteen garden squares. 
Lugouqiao (literally the Bridge Over the Reed Ditch) has been made famous by at least three historisc events: Marco Polo's description, Emperor Qianlong's inscription and the outbreak of the War Against the Japanese Aggressors. Officiallly the bridge was called the ¡°Lugou Stone Bridge,¡± and it was completely built of white stone and looked majestic with a total of 485 stone lions lined on the balustrades of both sides.
