Built in 1999, Shijinglong Ski Resort is 80kms from downtown Beijing. It is the first and largest ski resort in Beijing. It is also the first ski resort which uses artificial snow in the whole of China. The ski course covers an area of 600 acres and can accommodate 5,000 people for snow activities.
There are 7 ski runs including beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. The total length of the runs is over 5,000 meters. The most challenging run is 1,035 meters long with the largest ascent being 30 degrees. In addition, there is a snowboarding area. The snow entertainment available includes snow biking, snow tubing, horse-drawn sledge, snow mobile riding etc. The resort employs more than 40 professional coaches to meet the needs of beginners.
In 2002, Shijinglong Ski Resort launched new service items such as the snow sauna and hot spring bath. It is unique in China. This ski resort is suitable for all levels of skiers.
