Chongqing Huguang Guild Hall is an old architecture that serves as a cultural social center for people from Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong and Guangxi for more than 200 years throughout the history. Situated at the East Shuimen Street of Chongqing, the architecture was primarily built in year 1759 within the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty.
The Chongqing Huguang Guild Hall which covers an area of about 8500 square meters is combination architecture of halls, meeting rooms, courtyards, theaters and gardens. All of them are used for business, entertainment, religious as well as social activities. Throughout the development, hall of other places like the Guangdong Hall, Jiangnan Hall, Lianghu Hall and Jiangxi Hall were built within here as well. Besides that, there are also four other towers for the performance of Sichuan Opera, the “Magical Face Changing Show”. The show is a very famous cultural show throughout Sichuan in which the actors will change their masks on faces by only a slight of hand or with a wave of their hands.
