The Hanging Temple is built into a cliff near Mount Heng in the province of Shanxi. Since ancient times, it has been listed as the first wonder of Mountain Heng. Built at the end of Beiwei (around A.D. 471- A.D.523), this temple has over 1,400 years’ history.
Yungang Grottoes, in 1961, it was published by the State Council as one of the National Key Cultural Relics Preservation Units. In 2001, Yungang was listed as one of UNESCO's "World Cultural Heritages".
Huayan Monastery is the largest as well as the best preserved monastery of Liao Dynasty in existence throughout China. The monastery was built strictly according to the Huayan Sutra of Huayan School and uniquely placed in facing east instead of south facing like many other monasteries.
Yingxian Wooden Pagoda as one of the five ancient architectures in Shanxi Province is a pagoda which made solely by wooden materials. The wooden pagoda which delicately located about 70 kilometers from Datong within Fagong Temple is also named as Shijia Pagoda (Sakyamuni Pagoda).
