Tianchi or literally means Heavenly Lake is undoubtedly the most beautiful part of Changbai Mountain, Jilin Province. Formed in the crater of Changbai Mountain, the water in the lake is from Songhua, Yumen and Yalu Rivers. The lake is perched on an altitude of over 2180 meters above sea level with average temperature of 7.3 degree Celsius. The lake is always surrounded with clouds and when you are here, you might feel as if standing above the sky. Besides that, you may have the opportunity to experience a very unique phenomenon here as well in which sunshine and rain occurs at the same time. Sometimes, the rain fall heavily in the previous second, but soon after you got an umbrella in hand, the sun will showing the face again.
