Strategically located at Zhenguoyuan which is 3.5 kilometers to the east from the city center, the Korean Village is peacefully laid on the south foot of Changbai Mountain. The Village is also situated at the only route from the town to Tianchi (Heavenly Lake) of Changbai Mountain. The Korean Village was established in order to promote the unity of the special ethnic while improve the living quality of the minorities. At the same time, the folk customs as well as the cultural behavior of Korean ethnics can be expanded by turning it into source of tourism. Thus, in the April of 2005, the orchard was redesigned and reconstructed in order to transform it into a cultural village of the Korean people that live here. .
The overall design of the village has represented the traditional customs and culture of Korean ethnic. On the other hand, elements like the unique culture of Changbai Mountain, Yalvjiang River and the folks of nearby village were integrated into the Korean Village as well. Residences, museum of folk customs and museum of ancient Korea, memorial archway, waterway, decorated walls and mini sculptures are just some of the highlights that you can find out of the 20 attractions within the park.
For the ease of visiting purpose, the village has been divided into six sections, including the Cultural Folks Exhibition Section, Entertainment Section, Artificial Scenery Section, Restarant and Shopping Section, Residential Area as well as the Orchard. As a whole, the Korean Village is exactly a great destination that enables the integration between recreation, exhibition, entertainment, restaurant, shopping and vacation.
