Strategically located within Rilong Town of Aba Autonomous Prefecture, Mount Siguniangshan (Four Maiden's Mountain) Scenic Area about 220 kilometers from Chengdu is the largest snow mountain that situated within the nearest distance with a city. The Four Maiden's Mountain Scenic Area is generally made up of three valleys and a mountain which consists of the Shuangqiao Valley (Twin Bridge Valley), Changping Valley (Long Peace Valley), Haizi Valley (Alpine Lake Valley) and Siguniangshan (Four Maiden's Mountain). In comparison with any other national natural conservation scenic areas throughout the nation, the Four Maiden’s Mountain Scenic Area is well known for its Snow Peak, Wide Valley, Ecology and unique culture.
The whole scenic area has covered 1375 square kilometers in which 450 kilometers are opened for tourism purpose. In other word, it is exactly a great place that integrates recreation, mountain climbing, adventure and leisure travelling in one. In fact, the scenic area is made up of four connected snow peaks which according to one of the local Tibetan legend believed that the peaks a re the embodiments of four pretty ladies. The highest peak with 6250 meters which is known as the youngest one among the four ladies was crowned as the “Queen Peak” throughout the area.
The steep and imposing ridges of the Four Maiden’s Mountain have enabled the scenic area to be an outstanding one in comparison with the others. Moreover, high meadows surrounding the area are eye-catching throughout four seasons, colorful wildflowers will decorate the mountain in the spring and the luxuriant green trees and grass will dress the area when summer is just around the corner. In the autumn, yellow and red color is both the theme of the environment while the surrounding will be in a true white when winter arrives. The clear blue sky, thick forest, flowing streams and verdant grassland has enabled Four Maiden’s Mountain to fame as the “Alps of the Oriental”.

Shuangqiao Valley (Twin Bridge Valley)
Shuangqiao Valley which literally means Twin Bridge Valley is the easiest reach valley with panoramic vistas of snow peaks, grasslands and forest. As the most beautiful valley of Siguniangshan, the whole area of the valley has covered an area of about 217 square kilometers and is accessible by tour bus. Due to the large distance and the ruggedness of the terrain, traveling by tour bus is the best as well as the easiest way to take a full glance of the valley.

Changping Valley (Long Peace Valley)
Changping Valley (Long Peace Valley) is well known for its long gently sloping hill sides. Many outdoor activities like hiking and camping can all be carried out here. Thus, Changping Valley is one of the favorite valleys for tourists as it is the gateway for human to be in touched with the nature. The old cypress path, ancient Lama Temple, dry lakes as well as the waterfalls are just some of the attractions that you may find here.

Haizi Valley (Alpine Lake Valley)
Since there are numerous alpine lakes within the valley, therefore the valley was named as Haizi Valley (Alpine Lake Valley). Flower Alpine Lake, one of the alpine lakes within the valley was formed by glacial seepage during 4th century. Visiting the valley will be a great experience for exploring the nature and its history throughout the years. Moreover, the picturesque surroundings are reflected within the lake where a type of primitive fish, the living fossil of the land can still be found. Most of the lakes here are located about 4200 meters above sea level. Thus, although the lakes are well known for their beauty, the amounts of visitors who can afford to climb up and witness their beauty with their eyes are extremely few.
