Qingdao International Beer Festival was first introduced in year 1991. The festival will be taken place on the second weekend of August every year and lasts for 16 days. The period within the beer festival can be considered as the golden tourism season in Qingdao throughout the year. As Qingdao is the largest beer production area of China, thus, the introduction of the beer festival has become a very good platform for Qingdao to tell the world about its unique characteristics.
Qingdao International Beer Festival is a large national festival that integrated with tourism, culture, sports, economy and trade with the slogan of the “Qingdao Toasts with the World”. Throughout its 16 years of development history, the festival has now become one of the most important festivals of China as it has managed to attract millions of visitors from all around the world to involve in the festivals annually.
There are many performances to be taken place throughout the celebration of the festival. Although Qingdao International Beer Town is the primary location for the celebrations, Huiquan Plaza and Dengzhoulu Beer Street have both added to the march of the festival. More than 200 special events will be carried out throughout the festival. Nowadays, Qingdao International Beer Festival has gradually become a bright city name card of Qingdao-the beautiful seaside city, and has well-known reputation and influence in China and the world.
