Located on the north bank of the Songhua River to the northwest of Harbin, the Siberian Tiger Park is the first park out of its kind that offers a safety habitat for the Siberian Tiger, the King of the Forest as well as the largest natural park for wild Siberian tigers throughout the world in present. The park has housed more than 500 purebred Siberian tigers with around 100 visible to visitors. Besides that, the visitors may also see the white tigers, lions, leopards and Bengali tigers within the park as well.
The park which occupying an area of 1,440,000 square meters is divided into ten areas, such as the young tiger area, the matured tiger area, the king tiger area, a walking area and a platform for viewing the tigers. Unlike common zoos, the Siberian Tiger Park exchanges the roles of visitors and animals. For safety reason, all tourists must take a bus encircled by wire mesh while visiting the scenic spots within the park except in the walking area as well as the platform for tiger viewing while the tigers roam freely in the field.
