The area which made up of the Sun Island and some other small islands is blessed with more than twenty attractive scenic spots in which can be generally divided into three main sections. The Animal World is located in the north and west part, while the ice and snow gallery, exotic Russian series, a gallery and a memorial garden can be found at the southern part. The amazing Sun Gate is composed of five white ellipse gates, with four small gates on the sides and a big one in the center. With an area of 5000 square meters, the Ice and Snow Art Hall is the largest indoor ice sculpture garden in the world. So, even in the hot summer, you may still witness the exquisitely carved snow and ice works. On top of that, the picturesque Cloud-water Pavilion is a must-see scenery spot. This pavilion relies on the Sun Lake and has two-storey on the water. You may get a whole view of the lake and the Sun Hill while breeze gently brushes your faces while standing here. There are five lakes surround an island and connect the Sun Hill in the center of the Sun Island. Besides that, you may also enjoy the Japanese favor in the Harbin-Niigata Friendship Garden which located adjacent to the Cloud-water Pavilion. This is a typical Japanese courtyard featured by streams and a wooden bridge, blooming with flowers in spring and being quiet and graceful in summer.
The exotic Russian series are situated on the south of the Sun Island. This is where you can satisfy your stomach with delicious Russian cuisines and strolling on the Russian style street while searching for delicate artworks. There are many masterpieces of Russian artworks that displayed within the Russian Art Exhibition Hall. Besides that, Russian films and dances as well as Russian dances can all be found at the Russian Royal Garden Theater.
