The Workers Stadium is commonly referred to as Gongti by the local Chinese. It is a multi-purpose stadium strategically located at Chaoyang District, close to the Central Business District (CBD Area) of Beijing. There is no one in Beijing who did not hear the name of Workers Stadium before as it used to be one of the Ten Great Buildings that constructed in 1959 for the 10th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. After servicing the public for over 50 years, the exterior of the stadium is now showing aging signs. Anyway, renovation and refurbishment had been taken place for the preparation of becoming the venue for boxing of Beijing Olympic 2008. Nowadays, the stadium is standing proudly with its new look welcoming visitors from all over the world.
