Shuangta Temple which literally means Twin Pagoda Temple is strategically located at the southeastern side of Taiyuan City, Shangxi Province. As there are two similar pagodas standing proudly within the temple, so, it was given the name as Twin Pagoda Temple. According to historical records, these two pagodas were constructed within Emperor Wanli of Ming Dynasty which is about 400 years ago. The 13-storey twin pagoda was built by bricks and stone. Each of the floors is designed in octagonal shape with exquisite flying eaves at each corner. There is an internal staircase which enables visitors to climb up to the top in order to take a full glance of the surrounding area.
