Wong Tai-Sin-Temple
Introduction

Wong Tai Sin Temple is one of the most well known Taoist Shrines in Hong Kong which located on the southern part of Lion Rock at the north of Kowloon. Dedicated to Wong Tai Sin, or literally the Great Immortal Wong, the temple is famed for many prayers answered via a practice called Kau Cim.
The Main Altar as the main architecture of the temple is for the worship of Master Wong Tai Sin. The reconstruction of the building began in 1969 and was completed in 1973. With the sacred portrait of Master Wong Tai Sin, the wall of the altar is decorated with many paintings and teachings of Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism. The story of Master Wong Tai Sin is also engraved inside the altar. Next to the Main Altar, is the Hall for the worship of Guanyin, a famous goddess in Chinese society, as well as General Kwan, a historic hero and a Taoist monk named Fairy Lui.
Good Wish Garden which was officially opened in 1991 is a magnificent place that designed in typical Chinese architectural features for visitors.  Its name is given in the year of the 70th anniversary of the Yuen.  There are pavilions of different shapes, such as circular, square, double-storey, octagonal and fan-shaped within the garden; along side with two ponds and an artificial waterfall. All the pavilions are linked up by a long-corridor, which is a replica of that in the Summer Palace in Beijing.
The Archives Hall is meant for keeping teachings of Master Wong Tai Sin and other religious materials.  It has now become the general office with donation & inquiry counter of the Yuen.  According to the Chinese cultural studies, it belongs to "Wood" element and therefore all its furnishings are mostly made from wood. On the other hand, the Nine Dragon Wall inside the Garden is a replica of the famous Nine Dragon Wall at the Beihai Park in Beijing. On the back of the exquisite carving, the Chinese characters "Nine Dragon Wall" and a poem depicting the Wall written by Mr. Zhao Puchu, the former president of the China Buddhist Association, were inscribed.
