Wuhan East Lake is the biggest scenic area in Wuhan as well as the largest lake within a city throughout China. The scenic area has covered an area of 87 square kilometers which is about five times greater than the covering area of West Lake Hanghzou. Besides that, Wuhan East Lake is well known for its winding banks and crisscrossing ponds and brooks in which gaining it a beautiful name as ‘A Lake with 99 Bays’. The whole scenic area is generally divided into four main sections which includes Tingtao Scenic Area (Listening to Waves Scenic Area), Mo Hill Scenic Area, Luoyan Scenic Area (Wild Goose Diving Scenic Area) and Chuidi Scenic Area (Playing Flute Scenic Area).
Each of the scenic spots within Wuhan East Lake is highlighted with their very own characteristics. Xianyueting (Moon Pavilion), Shuiyunxiang (Water and Cloud Village), Quyuan Memorial Hall and Luxun Square are just some of the scenic spots within Tingtao Area. On the other hand, the Mo Hill Scenic Area is well known for the plum blossoms in the winter while the serenity of the surrounding at Luoyan Scenic Area has touched the deep heart of almost all visitors.
No matter the artificial architecture within the scenic area or the natural environment surrounding the lake, all of them are ever ready to welcome visitors from all over the world.
