Yaan Bifengxia Panda Base is located about 18 kilometers from Yaan Town and about 150 kilometers from Chengdu City. The Panda Base has covered an area of over 1074 Mu with currently 22 giant pandas living within the site. Besides being a paradise for the giant panda, it is also contributed a lot for the captive raising, reproduction and rare wild animal rescuing.
Bifengxia Scenic Area is a AAAA graded scenic spot of China. Although it is located just about an hour drive from Chengdu City, the surrounding as well as the scenery that you may find here is absolutely different when compared to the sight of China Plain. Bifengxia is a wonderland that surrounded by mountains, rivers, green plants and colorful flowers; while the Yaan Bifengxia Panda Base is located within a gorge about 1100 meters above sea level.
You may reach the Panda Base by the internal transportation of the park. When you come to an entrance with a cute image of panda on top of the entrance gate, it means that you have reached the home of the panda. Just take a short stroll along the path and several concrete villas which lay within the circled area will appear in front of you. The whole are of the base is over 1000 square meters and the giant panda is placed in between according to their ages, gender and characteristics.
The giant panda is very alert to the sound. When the visitors make unexpected sound during the visit, the pandas might get shocked. For this reason, a lot of don’ts are applied for the visitors who visit panda base. Besides that, there are time limitations for the visitors to visit the cute giant pandas as well. The panda base is opened for visitors from 9am to 11am in the morning and 2pm to 5pm in the afternoon only. If visiting panda is your first priority for the visit to Bifengxia Yaan Panda Base, then just bear in mind the opening hours for the base so that you won’t miss the visiting hours of the park.
