Yumenguan Pass which literally means Jade Gate Pass is one of the pass which located to the west of Dunhuang, Gansu Province. Yumenguan Pass was one of the pass along Silk Road which connected western frontier to the Han Dynasty. During that time, the jade was transported to the Mainland China through Yumenguan Pass via Silk Road. Thus, the pass was named as Jade Gate Pass. On the other hand, the silk products of inner China were transported to the western region in return.
