Zhaitang Cheng is located at Zhaitang Village of Mentougou County of Beijing. The site was built within Ming Dynasty in order to ensure the security of Beijing Capital for military purpose. The city was built in a square with two gates facing east and west each. City wall on the southern part of the square had been destroyed in the flood within the reign of Emperor Jiajing in year 1801. Later in year 1937, the tower of East gate was destroyed in a fire while the west gate was demolished by Japanese army in the same year. There are many interesting tourist spots which located not far from here. Lingyue Temple which located about ten miles from Zhaitang Cheng is the most well known site among all.
