Abakh khoja Tomb(also called Xiangfei Tomb) is built in memory of Abakh khoja. Abakh Khoja, Apak Khoja, or more properly was a religious and political leader in Kashgaria (in modern-day southern Xinjiang). He was also known as Hidayetullah Khoja. The tomb is famous for burying the body of Abakh khoja . It represents the art of ancient Uygur constructions.
Located at northern suburb around five kilometers from the city center of Kashgar, it was first built in the year of 1640. Entering the main gate, visitors will see a big rectangle-shaped courtyard, which contains a gate tower, higher and lower worship walls, Doctrine-Teaching Hall, an orchard and the main tomb chamber.
The main building in the complex is the tomb chamber in the east of the cemetery. The chamber’s width is 35 meters, height is 20 meters. The dome of the main tomb chamber has a 17-meter diameter. The top of the dome is covered with bright glazed titles. There is a huge column with a 3.5-meter diameter at each corner of the tomb.
It is regarded as the popular Muslim site in Xinjiang. Muslims from South Xinjiang Province will go to worship the Abakh Khoja Tomb each Friday or on important religious festivals.
