The Bund is an area of Huangpu District in Shanghai, within the former Shanghai International Settlement. It stretches one mile along the bank of the Huangpu River. The word "Bund" means an embankment. "The Bund" refers to the stretch of embanked riverfront in Shanghai. The Bund usually refers to the buildings and wharves on this section of the road, as well as some adjacent areas. It is often referred to as "the museum of buildings", as many different styles of European buildings can be found here.
