Zhan Qiao Pier is at the tip of Qingdao Bay off Zhongshan Road. It is 440-meter long and 10-meter wide with giant granite supports. At the south end of the bridge is a Chinese style octagon pavilion. Zhanqiao pier is viewed as the symbol of Qingdao.
The northern part of Zhanqiao is made of stone and the southern steel and cement. With lotus-shaped lamps decorated on both sides, the bridge is surrounded by half-hanged iron guard railings. An antique octagonal two-story pavilion called Huilan Pavilion stands there. The pavilion is built in 1930.
