The Pearl market, or Hongqiao Market, is a modern market where Chinese authentic items can be purchased. Standing near the Temple of Heaven, this is the largest venue selling pearls in Beijing. Along with pearls, a variety of other items are also sold inside the market.
This 5 floor mega-market attracts swarms of tourists looking for China's well known pearls and jade. Pearl varieties include Tahitians, freshwater, and south sea saltwater along with Russian amber, coral and opal among others. They are available in all colors and shapes and you can even custom make your own strand! Bargaining is required here, keep in mind prices are inflated since it is a large tourist destination.
