Travel route

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa (Lhasa airport 80km, asphalt road, 3595m)
Our guide will pick you up from Gongga airport or Train station and then send you to Lhasa city. The rest of the day will be at leisure for you to relax and adjust to the high altitude.
Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 2: Lhasa city tour sightseeing
Tour starts from the religious Potala Palace built in the 7th century by the famous Tibetan king-Songtzen Gampo. The present one was built by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. It became known as the "Winter Palace" by the 1750, when the 7th Dalai Lama built the Norbulingka Park as his summer residence. After having a Tibet-style lunch, you will visit Jokhang Temple, situated in the old section of Lhasa. Now it is the most sacred place in Tibet. Pilgrims come here to pay homage from all over Tibet. Later you will visit the Barkor Market.

Day 3: Lhasa city tour sightseeing
Full day sightseeing takes you to Drepung Monastery. "Drepung" in Tibetan means "the hill of rice', because this white Monastery looks like a big hill of rice. This monastery occupies an area of 150,000 square meters with 7700 lamas and becomes the largest monastery in Asia. After that, you will visit Norbulingka Park. In 1752, the 7th Dalai Lama built the first palace here for successive Dalai Lamas to carry out their political and religious activities during the summer season. Today Norbulingka has become a public park for picnicking, relaxing and entertainment. You will continue to visit Sera Monastery. Sera means 'Hailstone' in Tibetan, and legend tells that it hailed during the foundation of this famous monastery.

Day 4: Lhasa-Yamdrotso lake-Gyangtse-Shigatse (330km, 6hours driving, asphalt road in good condition, 3900m)
Morning time around 08:00am departure from Lhasa pass Gangbala Mt. which is over than 5000m, then to Yamdrotso lake which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet (another 2 is Namtso lake and Manasarova), after visiting Gyangtse Kumbum and having a far view of Zongshan ruins, arrive in Shigatse.
Overnight at Shigatse.

Day 5: Shigatse-Lhatse-Tingri (340km, 8 hours driving, 4980m)
Take the Friend-ship way to pass Lhatse to Tingri. On the way you will pass the checking point with your TTB permit, travel permit and passport. Then pass by Tingri to the entrance of Everest Base Camp. From Tingri to E.B.C with the very rough road, pass the wild grassland, cross the rapids river and high mountains. During this route, you can have a glimpse of 4 mountains which is 8000m high or more, such as: Mt. Lhotse(8516m),Mt. Everest (8848m),Mt. Qowowuyag (8201m), Mt Mayalu (8463m).
Overnight at Tingri.

Day 6: Rongphu Monastery-Everest Base Camp-Tingri-Shigatse (340km, 8hours driving, most good road, 4980m)
Early in the morning to see the sunrise from Rongphu Monastery and then to view Mt. Everest. It is fabulous and splendid. After walking arrive the place get on the animal carriage then use half of an hour arrive at Everest Base camp (Or you also can trekking to Base Camp around 1.5-2 hours one way. It's interesting and much more warm, but hard to breath). Hiking up to the top of the photo point to take pictures of the splendid-Mt. Everest. Then later in the afternoon around 13:00 go down from E.B.C back to Shigatse.
Overnight at Shigatse.
Meals: Breakfast + Lunch

Day 7: Shigatse-Lhasa (300km, 6 hours, asphalt road in good condition)
Morning time to visit TashiLumpo Monastery which was Built in 1447, spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas, then driving back with the Friend-ship Highway back to Lhasa.
Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 8: Depart Lhasa
You will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to Lhasa airport, your guide will help you with the check-in process; she/he will not leave until they see you off to the security check. (Service Ends)

Warm Notes:
1. All of road from Yamtso Lake to Langkazi was repaired in 2007
2. At high altitude sleeping at Rongbu is so cold hard to sleep suggest to overnight at warm Tingri then safely arrive at E.B.C. (If you also prefer accommodation at Rongbu please tell us then we can try our best to do the arrangement to make you feel better, but the itinerary will be changed)
3. During the raining season sometimes the weather will be not good enough to see the Mt. Everest. But you also have a chance to see the surrounding high snow mountain with fabulous view
4. Take very warm clothes and shoes with you to Mt. Everest so that you can focus on the wonderful scenery
5. You had better take some fast food like cookie chocolate with you because there is not so much delicious food from Tingri to E.B.C
