The Beijing Marathon 2011 will officially take place on October 16 at Tiananmen Square. The registration for this event has started June 16.

According to previous year's record, the registration for Beijing Marathon 2010 was begun around middle of July. During that time the quota limit for the event, 30 thousands of participants was met even prior to the expiry date. As for this, the organizer of Beijing International Marathon 2011 decided to open the registration from June 16 to July 30. The second phase of registration will be carried out from August 1 to August 15.

Beijing Marathon is an athletic event that organized by China Athletics Association and recognizes by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). The event has now becoming an international level Marathon event. Candidates who are interested to take part in Beijing marathon may submit application via official website or to register your participation at the official assigned registration center. The registration fee for Beijing international marathon can be paid via e-banking online, bank transfer or by cash. After the payment is successful, then the registration can be assumed to be completed. As per common practice for international marathon event, special quota is available for foreigner participants and will not be restricted to the limited quota for local participants.

The end point of Beijing marathon route will be shifted from Beijing Olympic Center to Beijing Olympic Park Central Festive Plaza. This has encouraged more participants to take part and at the same time attracted more supporters to join the event.
