Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway which takes almost 3 years of construction period will finally come to the end. This high speed railway will begin to serve as one of the most convenient connection between Beijing and Shanghai by end of June 2011. According to the Beijing Railway Department, there will be 2 running speeds for this high speed train. For the train which operates at 300 kilometer per hour will enable passengers to reach Shanghai from Beijing within 4 hours 48 minutes and vice versa. On the other hand, for train that operates at 250 kilometers per hour, passenger will reach Shanghai from Beijing within 8 hours 56 minutes and vice versa. With the introduction of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Train, the traveling period between these two major cities of China is shorten approximately 2 hours in comparison with Beijing-Shanghai CRH Train.

In the beginning stage of the application of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, there will be 90 pairs of trains that operated between Beijing and Shanghai. Due to the difference of traveling speed, the ticket rates for these two categories of trains will be varied. For the train that runs from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station at 300 kilometers per hour, the Second Class Ticket costs 555 RMB, First Class Ticket costs 935 RMB and Business Class Ticket costs 1750 RMB; while for train that runs from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station at 250 kilometers per hour, the Second Class Ticket costs 410 RMB and First Class Ticket costs 650 RMB.

Besides that, in order for the convenience of passenger, online ticketing service will be available for Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway. Within these 90 pairs of trains that operating between Beijing and Shanghai daily, there will be 63 pairs that run at 300 kilometers per hour and 27 pairs run at 250 kilometers per hour.

Among the 63 pairs of trains that run at 300 kilometers per hour, 41 pairs from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station; 3 pairs from Beijing South Railway Station to Nanjing South Railway Station, 1 pair from Beijing South Railway Station to Jinan West Railway Station, 3 pairs from Tianjin West Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, 3 pairs from Beijing South Railway Station to Hanghzou Railway Station, 2 pairs from Tianjin West Railway Station to Hanghzou Railway Station, 1 pair from Jinan West Railway Station to Hangzhou Railway Station and 4 pairs from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to Qingdao Railway Station.

Among the 27 pairs of trains that run at 250 kilometers per hour, 3 pairs from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, 1 pair from Tianjin West Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, 4 pairs from Beijing South Railway Station to Jinan Railway Station, 1 pair from Tianjin West Railway Station to Jinan West Railway Station, 1 pair from Beijing South Railway Station to Xuzhou East Railway Station, 2 pairs from Jinan West Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, 1 pair from Xuzhou East Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, 1 pair from Beijing South Railway Station to Nanjing South Railway Station, 1 pair from Beijing South Railway Station to Fuzhou Railway Station, 6 pairs from Beijing South Railway Station to Qingdao Railway Station, 2 pairs from Tianjin West Railway Station to Qingdao Railway Station, 3 pairs from Zhengzhou Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and 1 pair from Zhengzhou Railway Station to Jinan Railway Station.
