Who & why build the Great Wall of China?
It said that the construction of the Great Wall started from 7th century BC by the seven powerful kingdoms (China was divided into seven parts then). In order to protect themselves from each other and ethnic minorities (such as Mongolian), they built Great Walls in both center and border of ancient China. The Great Walls were built by different dynasties. In general, Qin (221-206 BC), Han (206BC-220AD) & Ming (1368-1644) Dynasties were three major dynasties when large-scale construction of the Great Walls takes place.
