Tour schedule:
Day 1:
Our experienced English-speaking tour guide & private car/van will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 6:30am. You will then drive (190 miles, 3.5 hours driving) directly to Shanhaiguan Pass. Upon arrival, you will visit the Shanhaiguan Pass (Shanhaiguan has been known as "The First Pass under Heaven" since ancient times) then hike on the wall. You will go to Laolongtou (Old Dragon's Head)- the starting point of the 4,000-mile long Great Wall. You can hike on the Laolongtou Great Wall for 30 minutes to an hour and experience the beauty of both the wall and the Bohai Sea.
Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant at approximately 12:30pm.
In the afternoon, drive about 1.5 hours to get to the Xiaoheikou Great Wall. Upon arrival, we will unload your luggage at Mr. Liu's home (a Great Wall lover and protector, he has lived in this village since 2001). You can then take a short tour of this small village (30 households in the village), and explore it's small, quiet and quaint atmosphere, as well as learn about it's long history since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
You will then hike on the east section of the Xiaoheikou Great Wall at 15:00, and climb to the peak tower, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset view. You will return to the village afterwards.
Dinner will be served at 7:00pm in Liu's home. Tonight, you will sleep on a special bed called a Fire-Kang (a kind of bed, made of bricks with a hollowed fire flue inside, very popular in northern China).

Day 2:
Get up at 4-5am and hike, lead by Mr. Liu, to the highest point of the Great Wall (40 minutes) where you will witness a breathtaking sunrise. After this, walk back to Mr. Liu's residence for breakfast.
7:30am, hike towards the western section of Xiaoheikou for 4-5 hours, break for a picnic lunch on the wall, then hike back to the village at 2:00pm. After a short break, be driven back to your Beijing hotel (4-5 hours drive).

Kindly Notice:
A. Our Guide will accompany you on the wall the entire time.
B. Mr.Liu's Home: A nice, clean, very typical dewelling in northern China, clean restroom and hot water are available, but nowhere to take a shower in winter.
C. Hiking on the wall will be extensive, so please be sure to drink plenty of water and wear appropriate shoes. Hiking shoes are highly recommended.
