As one of most important projects for the welcoming of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the National Centre for the Performing Arts has been the focus of worldwide interest. Its establishment was not only for Olympic events, but also to honor China's growing performing arts and architecture.
The National Centre for the Performing Arts is a dynamic new icon to the arts in the heart of old Beijing. The Centre's ultra-modern architecture is in sharp contrast to its neighbours, the Great Hall of the People, Tian'anmen Square and the ancient Forbidden City. This venue will showcase many of China's most talented acts and praise the creativity of these artists. Having three seperate performance halls each holding between 1,035 and 2,398 seats, the Center is a celebrated addition to Beijing's theatre culture.
