Dongbei means the three northeast China provinces of Liaoning, Heilongjiang and Jilin. Dongbei people is famous for their bold and generous personalities, and their dishes are just the demonstration of their characters: big plates with plentiful foods which prove to their customers the dishes are worth every of the pennies. Dongbei cuisine emphasis more on stewing, preserving and roasting. The most famous dishes are Braised Pork with Vermicelli, Stewed Chick with Mushroom and Dongbei Luandun (Stewed vegetables and meats) etc.
