Opened in 2001, Makye Ame is located near the Silk Market and Friendship Store. This ethnic theme restaurant combines a folk cabaret with cultural foods. The entrance hall is dominated by massive wood beams and waiters wear traditional Tibetan clothing. The house specialties are yak meat and barbecued lamb and the menu is published in both Chinese and English. Performances are twice daily consisting of Tibetan singing and dancing (at 8pm and 9pm).
