Beijing Capital Airport -Airport Terminals
Beijing Airport Terminal 1
Terminal 1 had experienced two times of re-construction in the last 10 years. Covering area of 60,000 square meters, Terminal 1 was first opened in January 1, 1980. Later it was closed for renovation from 1999 to September 20, 2004, during which all airlines operated from Terminal 2. The second time closing was for light refurbishment on May 20, 2008, and it re-opened on June 27, 2008. Since then, it became the operational base for domestic flights including Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air, Deer Air and Grand China Express Air etc.
Beijing airport Terminal 2
Terminal 2 was opened on November 1, 1999, the time when Terminal 1 was under reconstruction. Covering the area of 336,000 square meters and equipped with modern facilities, Terminal 2 is able to handle 26,500,000 passengers yearly and 9,210 passengers at peak hours. Terminal 2 mainly serves China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, SkyTeam members and other domestic and international flights.
Beijing airport Terminal 3
Terminal 3 was once served as an important gate of Beijing, most Olympic officials, athletes and medias who were first arriving at this airport when they are coming for Beijing Olympic games. As the second largest airport passenger terminal building, it was fully in operation on March 26, 2008 mainly housing Air China, Star Alliance and Oneworld and Star Alliance.
