Tour Itinerary
Hotel/apartment pick-up by our tour guide & private car/van at around 9:00am.  Drive to the Beijing Exhibition Pier to board the cruise boat which leaves at 10:00am. Take an exciting Changhe River Systems (10 kilometers /6.2 miles) cruise and pass many beautiful attraction including: Beijing Zoo, Aquarium, Wuta Temple, National Library, Purple Bamboo Garden, Wanshou Temple and the Maizhong Bridge and stop at the Ruyi Gate Pier of the Summer Palace. The whole cruise takes about an hour.
After disembarking from the boat, visit the Summer Palace dominated mainly by Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake. It covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers and we will explore for 1- 1.5 hours.  
Enjoy a typical Chinese lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the Beijing Hutong by rickshaw. The Hutong tour (1- 1.5 hour tour) includes meeting a local family and seeing Shicha Lake and the Drum Tower or Bell Tower. Transportation back to your hotel before 5:00pm.

Changhe River: The Changhe River is an ancient river which has over 700 years history. It was a renowned tourist attraction during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and later became the special river course for the royalty and nobility at the Summer Palace. Nowadays, it still attracts a large number of travellers.
Tip: During the tour, we will arrange for you to visit the pearl/silk market or cloisonné factory. If you are not interested in this, please feel free to inform the tour guide.

Note:
A. The duration of the cruise is one hour.  You will need to transfer to another boat in the Purple Bamboo Garden. This takes about 3 minutes on foot.
B. Be cautious when taking photos from the boat, it is said that the river has eaten many cameras.
C. Be careful during the cruise tour, avoid standing close to the edges of the boat.
D. Please don't board or disembark until the boat comes to a complete halt.
E. The night before the tour, our tour guide will call or leave a message at your hotel room to discuss the pick-up time.
F. The Changhe River cruise may be cancelled due to bad weather.
